Salary |
Your initial salary will be on a point on the University salary band and level within the TS Job Family. Your initial salary will be as indicated in your letter of appointment and/or your written statement of terms and conditions.

Hours of Work |
You will be expected to work such hours as are necessary to fulfil your role. With 36.25 hours being the notional requirement for the full-time working week, (pro rata for part-time), normally spread over five days. The actual times and attendance at work are to be agreed with the Head of School/Department or designated person.

Overtime |
You will be expected to work such hours as the job demands without overtime payment or time off in lieu.

Annual Leave |
The annual leave year runs from 1 October to 30 September (except for staff in Digital and Technology Services, Estates & Facilities, Registry, Academic Affairs and Libraries, where it runs from 1 January to 31 December).
The annual leave entitlement for a full leave year is 30 days. You will also receive eight Bank Holidays and additional University Closure Days as may be determined each year by the University Council. All the above is calculated on a pro rata basis for part-time and fractional staff.

Sickness absence and sick Pay |
You must notify your Head of School/Department or designated person immediately if you are unable to attend work through illness or industrial injury, in accordance with the University sickness notification procedure.
Within any span of 52 weeks, payments of allowances is for the following periods according to length of continuous service:

Pension |
If you are 18 years of age or over, subject to and in accordance with the rules and terms, as amended from time-to-time, you are entitled to join the recognised University occupational pension scheme, Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), from your commencement of employment. Full details of the USS Pension Scheme are available at: www.uss.co.uk.
You will automatically be deemed a member of the USS scheme from your commencement date. If you do not wish to become a member, you will have the option to opt out.

Notice Period and Termination of Service |
You are required to give the University three months’ notice in writing to terminate your contract.
The University must give three months’ written notice to terminate your contract.
