The Working Week

Your letter of appointment and/or your written statement of terms and conditions of employment will indicate the number of hours in your normal working week and if possible, the spread of days over which you are expected to work.

On occasions, due to the operational demands of your post and the need for flexibility, it is not possible at the time of appointment to specify your exact working arrangements. If this is the case, when you start your new job, your Head of School/Department will confirm with you what your normal working arrangements will be.

The time you start and finish your working day will depend on the demands of your post and whenever possible will be detailed in your letter of offer and your written statement of terms and condition. Your Head of School/Department will confirm with you the normal start and finishing times of your working day.

From time-to-time, after discussion with your Head of School/Department, your start and finishing times may vary to meet the changing demands of the University.
