General
How do I access MyView?
MyView is accessible via the internet and can be accessed outside of the University’s network (eg can be accessed via your home PC/smartphone). MyView works best with Internet Explorer – you may experience slight formatting issues with other browsers. Additionally, MyView is not an "app" and so performance may be limited when using via mobile devices.
Why would I want to access MyView?
You can:
- Check personal details such as your name and home address details
- View and update your bank details
- Fill in emergency contact information
- Fill in or update your equality information
- View payslips and P60s – please note: you can see your online payslip approximately two working days before your salary is paid into your bank account.
I don’t know how to use MyView, what can I do?
Each screen within MyView has a ‘Help’ button which gives brief information on the data and requirements. Our User Guide also contains a great deal of information to help guide you through MyView. You can also contact Human Resources at: HR@nottingham.ac.uk or Payroll Services at: payroll@nottingham.ac.uk.
I do not work for the University of Nottingham, but I understand you process my company’s payroll – is this relevant to me?
Yes, although you do not work for the University, your payslip can only be accessed via MyView.
Logging in
How do I log on to Myview?
If you are a University of Nottingham casual/associate or work for a non University of Nottingham company (eg Unitemps, Nottingham Scientific Ltd) then you will need to log on using your Payroll Number and a password of your choice. NB logging in for the first time using Payroll Number can be quite complicated so please see our User Guide for step-by-step instructions.
If you are a University of Nottingham staff member then you should log on using your normal IT account Username and Password.
I am a University of Nottingham casual/associate or work for a non University of Nottingham company and I do not know my Payroll Number - what should I do?
You can find your Payroll Number on your paper payslip or, for casuals/associates, this can also be found on your Assignment Letter.
If you are still unable to find this, casuals/associates should email HR@nottingham.ac.uk. Non UoN staff should email payroll@nottingham.ac.uk. Someone will then contact you, confirm your identity by asking you some questions and then provide this to you.

I successfully logged into MyView previously and have gone to the web page to log in again today. I notice that the payroll no/username and password fields are already completed with my details. Why is this?
Most web browsers will ask you if you wish to save your password details once you have entered them – you should select ‘no’ to help protect the security of your data. However, dependent on your browser settings, you may find that your password details have been saved automatically. If you need support to change this browser setting, please contact the IT Service Desk on extension 16677 (0115 951 6677) or via the IT Self Service Portal.

Making a change to your data
I have submitted a change, what happens now?
You will see that some changes are reflected immediately following your change in your MyView record – no further action is required by you. Some changes however, require an ‘authorisation’ by Human Resources or Payroll Services before it can be changed eg a change of bank details. After submitting the change, a message will have been displayed to you confirming whether i) your record has been updated, ii) the change needs to be authorised or iii) the change needs to be authorised and you need to send in supporting documentation.
I submitted a change a week ago, but this has not yet been reflected in MyView, when will this be changed?
Changes requiring authorisation will normally be processed within 2 weeks. The only exceptions to this are those which require you to send in supporting documentation – the change can only be authorised when this documentation is received and processed.
I submitted a change that requires me to send in supporting documentation – how long do I have to send this in?
The supporting documentation needs to be received by Human Resources within two weeks of you making the change. If this is not received, your change may be rejected. Don’t worry though, you can always resubmit your change in MyView and send in your documentation at that point.
I am an academic member of staff and I’m not sure whether my qualification is acceptable as an ‘academic teaching qualification’ – what should I do?
Please submit your change in MyView and then send in a copy of your qualification stating you are unsure whether this is an acceptable qualification. Queries/documentation should be emailed to
hr@nottingham.ac.uk. A member of Human Resources will contact you in the event of any query.
My change required authorisation, which has been rejected, why is this?
Normally, a change will only be rejected if Human Resources have not received your supporting documentation for the change within two weeks.
When do I need to change my bank details to make sure my salary gets paid into the new bank account?
To ensure you are paid into your new bank account, all changes must be submitted in MyView before the the
14th of each month. Failure to do this might result in your salary being paid into the old bank account. If you are unsure about when to submit your change, please contact
payroll@nottingham.ac.uk.
Payslips
Can I print my payslip in MyView?
Yes. You can also download this as a PDF. All future e-payslips and P60s will be available for you to access on the platform for as long as you work for the University, so you can print or save them as and when you need to.
Will banks/building societies accept a print out of my online payslip, eg as proof of employment or for mortgage applications?
Yes, most banks will accept printed e-payslips. However, if you encounter any difficulties please contact:
payroll@nottingham.ac.uk.
I am leaving the University. Will I still be able to access MyView to get my final payslip and view previous ones?
MyView log-ins will be live up to an individual's leave date. Where this means that the final payslip cannot be accessed (ie individuals leaving mid-month) a paper version will be provided automatically. Leavers are encouraged to save or print any previous payslips/P60s they require for future reference.
Protecting your data
How do you ensure the protection of my data?

Users concerned about accessing MyView from off-campus are reminded that the University offers a free download of Sophos Anti-Virus software for Windows or Mac for use on personal devices (see: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/it-services/software/antivirus.aspx).
