Sexual and Reproductive Rights

The Human Rights Law Centre hosted the 22nd Annual Student Human Rights Conference on 'Sexual and Reproductive Rights'  on 20 April 2021.

The topic of the 2021 conference was chosen by the LLM class in Human Rights Law.

This event brought together leading international experts to discuss current global challenges in terms of sexual and reproductive rights.

Conference sessions explored key challenges faced by those seeking to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights in different contexts, as well as recent feminist and gender equality movements working to defend these rights.

At the 2021 Conference, the HRLC was joined by a number of experts in the area of sexual and reproductive rights, including:

  • Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health
  • Dr Mindy Roseman, Director of International Law Programs and Director of the Gruber Program for Global Justice and Women’s Rights, Yale Law School
  • Dr Ruth Fletcher, Senior Lecturer in Medical Law, Queen Mary University of London
  • Professor Eilionóir Flynn, Director of the Centre for Disability Law and Policy (CDLP), National University of Ireland Galway
  • Dr Atina Krajewska, Senior Birmingham Fellow, Birmingham Law School
  • Jayne Adams, Regional Programme Advisor, Latin American and the Caribbean Regional Office, United Nations Population Fund
