Each year the Human Rights Law Centre (HRLC) offers UoN students from Law, Social Sciences and the Humanities the opportunity to get involved in the projects and events of the Centre throughout the academic year. These positions provide students with an opportunity to work, on a voluntary basis, in a world renowned academic human rights centre, gaining valuable experience to complement their studies.
This year, postgraduate and final year undergraduate students can apply to be involved in following HRLC projects:
- National Implementing Legislation Database (NILD) & Cooperation and Judicial Assistance Database (CJAD) (law students only);
- Annual Student Human Rights Conference;
- Human Rights Film Series;
- International Human Rights Reports Assistant (law students only);
- Scholars at Risk – Student Advocacy Seminar
- Yearbook of the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture Assistant (law students only)
- Mental Disability Law and Compliance with the UN CRPD (law students only)

We will also be outlining these and other opportunities during the LLM Induction Session, Introduction to the Human Rights Law Centre, on Wednesday 26 September between 4-5pm, A4 Law and Social Sciences Building. This will also give interested students an opportunity to ask any questions regarding the positions.
