Welcome Week tour of Nottingham - open to all Classics and Archaeology first-year undergraduates
This field trip on Tuesday 28th September to Nottingham is for all Classics and Archaeology first-year undergraduate students only as part of the Welcome Week programme. Please DO NOT BOOK unless you are a Classics and Archaeology first-year undergraduate student and ONLY book one slot.
Booking closes at midday on Monday 27th September.
The trip will be a walking tour and will introduce students to the historical development and geography of Nottingham from its Anglo-Saxon origins until the present day. Students can reach the Market Place by tram from University Park. There are three tours planned, and we expect the tour to take 1.5 to 2 hours. The tour group (of no more than 20 people) will meet in front of the town hall by the left lion. The trip is open to all first years doing single and joint honours programmes with the Department of Classics and Archaeology. Please only book on to one tour.
Shoes suitable for walking should be worn and participants should dress appropriately for weather conditions. The University also encourages all students to wear a mask if they can in crowded or enclosed spaces. If participants have concerns regarding accessibility, please contact Prof. Will Bowden (will.bowden@nottingham.ac.uk).
If you have a recent positive covid test or any coronavirus symptoms on the day of the tour, please email the organiser, Will Bowden, and do not attend the tour.
To book on to one of these tours, first-year undrgraduates from the Department of Classics and Archaeology need to log in to Moodle and select a timeslot to secure their place. We recommend that you do this as soon as possible as places are limited. Booking closes at midday on Monday 27th September.
