Free to eligible students
Register here
This field-trip will visit the Creswell Crags Museum and Visitor Centre in Nottinghamshire, housing the most comprehensive collection of remains from the Late Ice Age (from 50,000 to 10,000 years ago) in Britain. Evidence includes remains of human occupation and bones of Ice Age animal species. The field-trip will include a tour of three of the limestone caves that were inhabited by our Ice-Age ancestors (one is not normally open to the public).
All newly arrived Archaeology students are eligible to attend this field-trip (Single-honours UG, Joint-honours UG, Masters by Research, and PhD students). Students should wear stout footwear (boots or shoes – not sandals or heels), and have warm clothing and waterproofs in case of poor weather on the day. Bring lunch if you wish but there is a café at the Museum.
