Organised by Dr Katharina Lorenz.
This conference brings together a group of international scholars exploring different aspects of the Roman sanctuary of Diana at Nemi ‑ a site of particular importance for the understanding of Roman religious cult, along with the reception of Roman culture in nineteenth century Britain.
The presentations focus on new means of analysing specific groups of dedications from the sanctuary (marble sculpture and anatomical votives); on the sanctuary space and its recent archaeological explorations; and on the future plans for the permanent display of the Nottingham Nemi collection at the Castle Museum.
