Description

The theme of this fifth annual meeting is Orthodoxy and Dissent, which relates to many aspects of reception studies.  The conference will include panels on:

  • literary, material and visual culture
  • translation studies
  • political thought

The exciting agenda includes a keynote speech by Dr Gideon Nisbet, whose latest work focused on reception of epigram (including a translation of Martial), and a workshop by the poet Clare Pollard, who recently published a contemporary verse translation of Ovid’s Heroides.

An evening reception and entertainment on Monday 14 December has been arranged in collaboration with the Centre for Ancient Drama and its Reception (CADRE).

The subsidised conference fee is £15 per person before 20 November (then £20), which includes conference packs, refreshments, a wine reception and two buffet lunches. A small number of bursaries (up to £100 each) are available to delegates and speakers - application details will follow shortly...

Online booking available now!

There will be an optional conference dinner (£20 for a three course Italian meal) on 14 December, which can be booked during registration.

For up-to-date conference news, information on local accommodation and details of the full programme, please visit the AMPRAW2015 website and get involved on twitter @AMPRAW2015.
