The tenth congress of the International Plutarch Society was held a month ago; aptly enough, given Plutarch’s strong interest in the sanctuary and oracle, it took place at Delphi. The first plenary session was on ‘Approaching space, time, and language in Plutarch’s visions of Greek culture’, in which our own Professor Judith Mossman spoke on ‘Plutarch and the alphabet’. The conference was organised by Aristoula Georgiadou and Katerina Oikonomopoulou of the University of Patras.
