Robert Icke Interview

On 29-30 January 2016 the Centre for Ancient Drama and its Reception will host the 2 day conference ‘Sacrificing Iphigenia through the ages’

Organiser Lynn Fotheringham from the Department of Classics and Arcaheology recently visited director Robert Icke in London at the Almedia Theatre, to talk about his modernisation of Aeschylus’ Oresteia. Lynn wanted to get an understanding of his modernisation of the play and in particular the first act where Iphigenia’s sacrifice is referenced in the Agamemnon. Lynn has written about her interview with Robert Icke in her latest blog. The interview will be broadcasted exclusively on the first day of the conference.
