The career destinations of Nottingham Music alumni have been cited by The Guardian as demonstrating the attractiveness of music graduates for a range of employers.
A recent survey of alumni undertaken by the Department showed that they had gained employment in many diverse fields, including finance, consultancy and the legal professions, as well as the creative industries and education.
In The Guardian report, Dr Robert Adlington highlighted how music students develop all seven of the ‘most desired employability skills’ identified by the Confederation of British Industry, making them highly attractive for workplaces of all kinds.
In addition, Nottingham’s Department of Music offers a number of in-house traineeships and several modules specifically focused on employability, including a new ‘Work Placement’ module.
