New WW1 work by Nottingham alumnus Alex Patterson

Last year Music alumnus Alex Patterson was commissioned by Music for Everyone to compose a new work for symphony chorus & orchestra for their upcoming concert to commemorate WW1.

The main work, Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Alex's new piece On the Idle Hill, will be heard in the first half of the concert alongside Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Everyone Sang written 10 years ago by composer Antony LeFleming.

The concert will take place on Saturday 7 February 2015 at 7.30pm in the Albert Hall, Nottingham and will be given by Music for Everyone’s flagship Festival Chorus and Concert Orchestra.

Alex's commission has been generously supported using public funding from Arts Council England.
