PhD student Peter Auker produces London concert

Music PhD student Peter Auker is producing a concert in London on Sunday 21 February, at The Pheasantry, King’s Road, London – one of the capital’s major cabaret venues.

Peter  formed  ‘New Musicals Network’ in 2009 to showcase new work in the field of musical theatre, and the concert is part of a series of concerts under the generic title of 'Snappy Title' which Peter produces about once a year.  This year’s concert is called 'Snappy Title: Making History', and all the songs have a connection with that theme.  There will be several premieres amongst the songs. All proceeds from the concert are going to the charity MyAware (formerly the Myasthenia Gravis Association), and the artists performing are all established West End professionals giving their time for free.

The programme will combine new material by composers such as Kara Taylor Alberts, Charles Bloom, Annemarie Lewis-Thomas and Eamonn O’Dwyer (including several world premieres) along with favourite, well-known songs from musicals including Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins. The show features TV and West End artists Kirsty Hoiles, Alice Fearn, Martin Neely, Will Barratt, Jordan Langford, and Jessica Singer. The live 4 piece band is directed from the piano by Peter Auker.
