The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IfAM) encompasses a multidisciplinary team of established academics in their respective fields in the UK and at our campuses in Malaysia and China. This provides the foundation needed for research and world-leading facilities to encourage the development of new technologies and systems for production of high-value products within the manufacturing sector.

The research portfolio at the institute presents a unique integrated approach to manufacturing.

Current research is concerned with developing new technologies and systems for cost efficient, knowledge intensive, high value and environmentally friendly production.  IfAM addresses the full product lifecycle from development through to manufacture, usage and disposal.
