New Reading Rooms in Hallward Library

We are pleased to announce that our two newly created Reading Rooms are now open for use on levels 3 and 4 in Hallward Library.

The rooms have been designed, using student feedback, to create calm and contemplative spaces for silent reading or study.

Libraries worked with the 1970's architects designs for Hallward Library to capture the style and intention of the original space. Using a blue colour palette for the level 3 room and green for the level 4 room, the colours and fabrics evoke a relaxed learning space.

In both rooms, there is a combination of comfy chairs looking out over the green space outside, and private study booths. These new rooms provide 24 new study spaces in total. 

The rooms are open for everyone to use, all we ask is that you are respectful of the other users of the rooms and are silent in whatever you are reading or learning.
