Researcher Academy: Data Fest 2023

In a novel collaboration with the UK Data Service, curators of the UK’s largest collection of economic, social and population data for research and training, the Researcher Academy are hosting the first Data Fest programme. 

Whether you are just getting started or interested in broadening your existing capabilities, Data Fest will give you the chance to boost your data skills, knowledge and networks.

Beginning with our launch event, the programme includes the following sessions:

• Connecting with your Data Community (launch event)
• An introduction to the UK Data Service 
• Accessing Secure Data: SafePod and UK Data Service SecureLab (hosted by UoN Libraries)
• Practical Data Management Plan Writing (hosted by UoN Libraries)
• Researcher Techniques Using UK 2021 Census Data 
• An Introduction to Text-Mining 
• Data Carpentry (Including data management with SQL and data analysis and visualisation with R)
• Data Skills for Large Scale Survey Data
• Sharing and FAIRing your Research Data (hosted by UoN Libraries)
