Improvements to Click and Study and NUsearch coming soon

We've made some changes to two of our library systems to make it easier to find and access study spaces and print resources.

What has changed?

Click and Study – bookable study spaces in libraries

  • New dashboard – Our new booking dashboard makes it easier to find a study space available at the time you want rather than scrolling through all spaces. Use the new ‘Search by Time’ option to see only those spaces available at your preferred date and time. You can also see images of spaces as you browse - more images are being added over the coming weeks.
  • Changes to space locations, signage and online information – From Monday 9 September, bookable spaces in some libraries will have moved. This is to make it simpler to find bookable spaces by placing them close to each other rather than spread across the library space. All bookable spaces will also have new signage.

NUsearch – your library discovery tool

  • Interactive maps - Did you know NUsearch can show you an interactive map pinpointing the location of physical library resources in Hallward, George Green, Greenfield Medical and James Cameron-Gifford libraries? We’re now making it even easier to find the maps. From Tuesday 3 September, the Find It button will be changes to a blue Locate button. Click the button to find the item you're looking for on the map.
  • Correcting the policy for items available to borrow – For items available to borrow from our libraries, NUsearch currently lists the loan policy as ‘1 Week Loan’. We have changed this to more accurately reflect our loan periods. At present, most books are issued for seven days and will auto-renew every day (except high-demand items which are issued for two days and do not auto-renew). From 3 September, on NUsearch the policy for items available to borrow will be ‘For Loan’.

If you have questions about these changes or our library services in general, please get in touch by asking a member of library staff or contacting our helpline by phone, email or live chat.
