Supervisory Team
A large and diverse pool of supervisors has been selected; comprising senior academic colleagues and early career researchers. This pool brings together experts from multiple, distinct fields of research, including medicinal chemistry, biophysics, medicine, physiology, cell biology, molecular pharmacology, mathematic modelling and systems biology.
Each student will be supported by a multidisciplinary supervisory team which will be made of two academics and an early career researcher (ECR).
The primary academic supervisor will be a research active mid-career academic, who will provide mentorship for new students and ECRs. They will also oversee student training and supervision. The secondary academic supervisor will be highly experienced and bring a different expertise to the primary supervisor and the ECR. They will also provide guidance, mentorship and access to facilities. Students will also benefit from hands-on supervision from ECRs. They will be the first point of call and offer support and advice.

Our team includes both world-leading academics (including clinicians) and Early Career Researchers in the diverse areas required to deliver the Drug Discovery and Team Science Doctoral Training Program.
The University of Nottingham and other collaborative organisations contributing to this program have proven scientific excellence and therefore aim to deliver an innovative post-graduate training scheme based on past successes with the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (MSCITN) and ONCORNET. This will ensure diversity of experience and will facilitate student interactions with colleagues from across the breadth of industry, clinical, physical and biological sciences.
