Organisational approaches to ESG communication

This project investigates how organisations 'talk' about their impact on the environment and society and how they seek to ensure good corporate governance.

'ESG' stands for 'environmental, social and governance'. It is a term used by organisations to measure how their operations affect the environment and society and to examine how they approach corporate governance.

As part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership between University of Nottingham and Browne Jacobson, we are conducting research into organisational approaches to ESG and the language used to communicate about ESG. This involves carrying out an online survey during September 2024 of people who are involved in ESG in organisations in the UK, Ireland and other countries. We will also be conducting interviews to explore issues in greater detail.

The project will identify current approaches to ESG, best practices, key challenges and it will identify future priorities to enable ESG communications to be as effective as possible.

The survey is open to anybody who works in ESG in an organisation, or who has done so in the last 12 months.
