New catalogues added from March to May 2010

New collections

Descriptions of four new collections have been released on the Manuscripts Online Catalogue. The hyperlinks in the descriptions below take you to more detailed catalogue entries.

• Slides of photographs, documents and plans relating to Wollaton, Nottinghamshire, c.1955 (MS 630)
• Papers relating to Patricia Latham, nurse at the General Hospital, Nottingham; 1953-1957 (MS 857)
• Papers relating to the University College, Nottingham, formerly belonging to Alderman Edmund Huntsman;  1922-1938; 2006 (MS 859)
• Papers of the Thoroton and Hildyard families of Screveton and Flintham, Nottinghamshire; 1478-2005 (THF) 

Catalogue conversion and upgrading

In addition, staff have been busy converting existing paper catalogues into electronic form, and upgrading electronic catalogues with further details:

• Papers of William Arundell Monckton relating to the purchase of Widmerpool Hall, Nottinghamshire, 1924-1928 (Mo). This catalogue was already available in typescript form in the Reading Room at King's Meadow Campus but is now available electronically as well.
• Item level level records for the Frank Bowley postcard collection (MS 192). This collection had already been described on the online catalogue, but the catalogue is now complete down to bundle and item level
• Middleton Collection: New item level descriptions for Petitions (bundle Mi F 5/1-9), and Inquisitions Post Mortem (Mi F 1/9/1-9).

Archdeaconry Presentment Bills

Work is continuing on extracting details of people brought before the Archdeaconry Court for committing various offences. The indexes are available via the Archdeaconry Person Index part of the Manuscripts Online Catalogue.

Details from the Presentment Bills dated 1730-1739, for each of the four deaneries (series AN/PB 311, AN/PB 323, AN/PB 336 and AN/PB 349), have now been added to the main catalogue and the Archdeaconry Person Index .
