Lecturer David Hodge from our applied probability and statistics group appeared on BBC Radio Nottingham live from the Goose Fair on Friday 3 October. As part of a three-hour special, they wanted a probability expert to answer a few questions on the traditional fairground activities on offer. On air he spoke about the speeds of the rides, including some tips for those interested in not going too fast, as well as working out probabilities of winning hook-a-duck.
