Former maths student in International hockey success

Anne Panter a former Graduate of the School of Mathematical Sciences and Olympian has had continued success representing Great Britain at the Federation Internationale de Hockey (FIH) Champions Trophy.

She was part of the silver medal winning women's hockey team that just narrowly missed out on the top position to Argentina with the final score being 1-0 to Argentina.

The tournamet was held in Rosario, Argentina and to get to the finals Great Britain had to play the Netherlands who are world number one at the moment, China who were silver medalists at the Beijing Olympics and Japan.

Anne is no stranger to international success as she also competed at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, where the team secured a very respectable 6th place. This is the last major tournament before the London Olympics so look out for her in the summer.
