Much loved staff members retire

Eve Mulligan and Hilary Lonsdale

Two of our much loved staff members, Eve Mulligan and Hilary Lonsdale retired last week and we all wish them a long and happy retirement.

Eve Mulligan, joined the old Department of Theoretical Mechanics in January 1995 (having previously worked in Kings College London) and so was here when the school formed in 1999. She was the school Examinations Administrator and was responsible for the smooth running of all of the examinations which is no mean feat. This was something that she managed with a professional ease that was to be envied.

Hilary Lonsdsale began her University of Nottingham career in 1999, when she joined Human Resourses and became a part of the Mathematical Sciences team in October 2005 as the MSc Administrator where she provided all of the support for the school masters degree programme. A very challenging and demanding position.

Everyone is very sorry to lose such exceptional colleagues who will be sorely missed by staff and students alike. We are very grateful indeed for all of the excellent contributions from two wonderful colleagues.
