Dynamic survival analysis

Project description

Dynamic Survival Analysis (DSA) combines classical dynamical systems theory with survival analysis. Given a dynamical system, often described in terms of mean-field ordinary/partial differential equations representing proportions/concentrations in a large population/volume, the DSA method interprets those differential equations as probabilistic quantities such as survival functions, density functions, cumulative hazards etc. This interpretation is very useful for parameter inference of the dynamical system based on standard survival analysis tools.

On the methodology side, the project will further develop the theory of dynamical survival analysis and study its statistical properties. There will be plenty of opportunity to employ the method to particular applications in epidemiology, systems biology.
