Histopathology

Academic Clinical Lecturers

William Dalleywater

"I am an academic clinical lecturer in histopathology with a focus on platform science and bioinformatics.

"I completed my PhD working on the development of a model of the intestine derived from induced pluripotent stem cells which gave me a grounding in in vitro / in vivo techniques as well as molecular biology techniques.

"My areas of interest are in:

  • understanding interactions between different cell populations mainly in cancer and inflammation, as well as during development
  • investigating the effects of the tissue microenvironment on cell phenotype
  • further development of the stem cell model of the intestine for translation as a regenerative medicine platform
  • using high throughput sequencing to assist in understanding cell interactions and phenotypes as well as using molecular data to refine diagnostic processes in histopathology."
