Dr Lorna Treanor

Lorna has a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and she possesses expertise in inclusive entrepreneurship and innovation. Her research has explored the influence of gender upon women's entrepreneurial behaviours and experiences. She has undertaken a wealth of research exploring women's career progression and entrepreneurial activity within STEM disciplines and sectors and, has focussed more recently upon ways to ameliorate the gender finance gap in academic entrepreneurship and spin-out activity. Lorna devised the Charter for Inclusive Entrepreneurship which seeks to create a more inclusive ecosystem for underserved entrepreneurs such as women, ethnic minority or disabled entrepreneurs, as examples. Lorna is the current President of the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
