I engage in research and consultancy work in Asia. The theme that I explore revolves around reforms and governance as well as the political sociology of education in various contexts. A particular focus that I look at is the interface of technology, big data and education.

I have worked with different Departments of education in different countries such as: the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia. I have also worked with various teachers' unions in the Philippines and in Australia as well as peak educational bodies in Singapore.
I have worked with several multilateral agencies: the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Australian Aid Agency (AusAID) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and with non-government organisations: Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and The HEAD Foundation (Singapore).
