Snow, ice, avalanches and landslides/debris flows. My PhD was on the dynamics of powder snow avalanches and I am still interested in them, which expanding my research to other slope hazards such as landslides and underwater turbidity currents. At the moment I am also studying ice - the processes by which ice crystals aggregate to make the snow flakes that fall from clouds. I have some work at the moment on ice accretion on aeroplanes and other infrastructure.
