Consultancy and Research: Dr Davison is happy to explore opportunities to undertake consultancy and research work with external organisations.
I have a longstanding collaboration with Prof Satoshi Chiba at Tohoku University. The research findings from one project were used as evidence in awarding an island archipelago know as Ogasawara "UNESCO World Heritage Site" status. I would like to continue working with Prof Chiba, but also to expand studies to other nations, especially China and SE Asia.
I have extensive media experience, including multiple interviews for TV, Radio and media etc. I have also interned at the BBC Science unit, and so written popular science. My collaborator in Japan has written several popular science books. A research story that I wrote for BBC News (www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-45183651) has been repeatedly used in a Japanese School exam, and also printed in an accompanying course text book with a print run of 8700 copies, published by Obunsha.
