The CEO of one of the world’s most successful specialist recruitment companies is to deliver a free public lecture at The University of Nottingham.

Steve Ingham, chief executive of PageGroup — and a University of Nottingham alumnus — will deliver a talk on Creating a Global Business the ‘People’ Way on Wednesday April 9.

The event comes as part of Nottingham University Business School’s Business Leaders Series, which offers the opportunity to hear high profile business leaders speaking about a variety of business and management topics.

The events are a rare opportunity to gain a unique insight into the careers and experiences of business leaders operating at the forefront of their field and to network with people from both the business and University communities.

Steve Ingham was appointed CEO of PageGroup — formerly known as Michael Page International — in April 2006. He joined Michael Page in 1987, which was then a very small, primarily national specialist finance executive recruitment business. He began his employment there as a consultant in Michael Page Marketing, became a Director in 1990 and in 1994, Managing Director of a UK subsidiary.

He was promoted to the Board as Executive Director of UK Operations in January 2001 and then Managing Director in 2005.

Steve graduated from The University of Nottingham in 1983 in Metallurgy and Materials Science. He is also a member of the Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Corporate Partnerships Board and in January 2013 he was appointed to the board of Debenhams plc as a Non-executive Director.

Steve’s lecture will take place on Wednesday April 9 at the Sir Colin Campbell Building on the University’s Jubilee Campus. The event begins at 5.30pm with coffee and refreshments, with Steve’s lecture scheduled to start at 6pm. It will be followed by a networking reception and buffet at 7pm.

The event is open to Business School and University alumni, students and staff as well as visitors from business and industry and is free to attend. However, those interested in coming along will need to first register online.
