The University of Nottingham has been ranked amongst the top universities in the UK for international student experience.
Nottingham enters the league table at number two in the International Student Satisfaction Awards 2014 and is one of only five UK universities to receive a rating of ‘outstanding’.
The rankings are compiled by StudyPortals, an independent study choice platform covering more than 1,400 universities in 40 European countries. Unlike other university league tables, the International Student Satisfaction Awards are based entirely on reviews by international students who have studied in the UK.
An ‘outstanding’ rating is awarded to those universities that achieve an average rating of 9.5 or more out of 10.
Harriet Matthews, Assistant Director of the International Office at Nottingham, said “We’re delighted with this award and pleased that such a high proportion of students surveyed would recommend Nottingham. The International Office places a great deal of effort into building relationships with our students, whether they are prospective students at the start of their student journey, current students requiring visa guidance or support to settle in and acclimatise to a new culture, or alumni we’re working with to support their career aspirations on return to their home country.
“We place our students and their experience at the centre of what we do and particularly prioritise responsiveness to student enquiries and try to ensure integration of messaging across all platforms. Our ever-evolving mix of online content across blogs and social media channels helps us to be responsive, follow-up with quality information in a timely manner, but also bring the student experience at Nottingham to life.”
The University of Exeter topped the UK table while Cardiff University placed in third. The other two institutions to receive the outstanding rating were The University of Edinburgh and Manchester Metropolitan University.
