Assessing Injection Sites
An injection is best administered into clean, intact skin.
If the skin is clean then no specific preparation is required If soiled wash with soap and water.
AVOID
- Cuts and abrasions
- Infection
- Rashes
- Tattoos
- Moles Swelling / discolouration
Reported injuries:
Palsy, nerve injury, local irritation, pain, infection, haematoma, bleeding, arterial puncture, permanent sciatic nerve damage, paralysis, fibrosis, abscess, tissue damage, gangrene.
