ACS is the end product of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). The above picture shows risk factors, some which can be modified, some which cannot. Women are more prone to CAD than men and the risk increases with age as atherosclerosis, the main culprit for CAD, is an insidious process that takes decades to reach a significant level.
