The School of Nursing has been awarded funding from the Eduserv research foundation for a 2.5 year project to develop Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) for health professional education. The project is unique as it will draw on expertise from lecturers in FE, HE and the NHS in collaborative production and use of RLOs to support student learning across sectors. This funding, in addition to the funding the School will receive from April as part of the CETL for RLOs, will enable it to take on new staff to increase production of RLOs, promote their use within and outwith Nottingham, and carry out research into their effectiveness as an educational tool. Heather Wharrad, Senior Lecturer in Education and Health Informatics, was instrumental in obtaining both sets of funding.
Eduserv are hosting a free symposium to showcase their funded projects and to discuss e-learning in post-16 education. The event "will bring together teaching and learning staff, researchers and managers in a group of seminars addressing the collaborative development and distributed reuse of e-learning resources." Among the topics discussed at symposium seminars will be:
The symposium is open to all and free of charge, but you're advised to register early to get a place.
