Educational Technology for Healthcare Education
The SONET group would like to pass on their warmest congratulations to Dr Heather Wharrad on her well deserved promotion to a Readership. Heather is Head of the Education and Health Informatics Centre within the School of Nursing and her drive and expertise in the area of e-learning has led to the School of Nursing at Nottingham gaining a national reputation in this area. In addition Heather’s enthusiasm for this field and her skills as a mentor and supervisor have helped establish a growing team in this area.
Heather’s achievements were recently recognised with the award of a prestigious Lord Dearing Award for excellence in Learning and teaching. She has also been instrumental in the School, together with its partners at London Metropolitan University and the University of Cambridge , being funded as a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) for the development of reusable learning objects (RLOs).
