Current successful PARs integrate the following activities:
Academic
- feeding back assessment results each semester in a documented way
- monitoring and reviewing progress
- guiding choice of modules and academic pathways
Administrative
- streamlining and integrating the administration of staff-student interactions,
including recording and tracking students' module choices
- recording any specific activities required by professional or statutory
bodies
Pastoral
- reviewing personal development
- monitoring personal well-being
- providing information about support services
Developmental
- encouraging students to reflect regularly on their progress and set themselves
specific and realistic targets
- informing module choice
- integrating skills awareness and career development activities with departmental
/ school programmes, in collaboration with the University Careers Advisory
Service
Note: The Steering Group would be grateful to receive comments from schools
/ departments addressing the requirements of a statutory / professional body
on any items of the PAR components listed above which they propose to omit or
modify in the light of their statutory / professional body guidelines.
