We offer a wide range of services, ensuring that you have the support you need to succeed and enjoy life at the University.

All students have a personal tutor, or team of Here For You Guides, and a dedicated welfare contact in their school or department.

Researcher Academy

The Researcher Academy is the network for researchers at the University. We work together to promote a healthy research culture, cultivate researcher excellence and develop creative partnerships that enable researchers to flourish. 

Postgraduate researchers at Nottingham have access to our members’ area that includes a wealth of online resources, access to training courses and award-winning postgraduate placements.

Students' Union

The Student's Union provides a range of support networks, including groups for:

  • international students
  • black and minority ethnic students
  • students who identify as women
  • students with disabilities
  • LGBT+ students

SU Advice provides free, independent and confidential advice on issues such as accommodation, finance and academic difficulties.

You can seek advice about any issue. We will listen, help and support you in accessing other specialist services you might need.

English language courses

Our Centre for English Language Education offers presessional English courses to help develop your English and study skills.

You can also access free English language support alongside your postgraduate degree.

It is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK, so you can be sure of the high level of support and teaching it provides.

Faith support

Friendship and support is provided for students of all faiths or none.

Our facilities include a Christian chapel on University Park Campus, male and female Muslim prayer rooms, and multi-faith prayer rooms on all campuses.

The Students' Union hosts societies for many religions. They have strong links with local faith communities and can help you find a place of worship in the city.
