Rise of the Machines: New battery chemistries and the prospects for battery-powered flight

Professor Darren Walsh, Professor of Chemistry, Faculty of Science

Join us this March for our next Science Public Lecture, featuring Professor Darren Walsh from the School of Chemistry.

In this talk, he will discuss some of the innovative battery chemistries currently under development in our laboratories, including sulfur and air batteries. He will explore the advantages of these systems, as well as the chemical challenges that must be addressed before these batteries can be applied in real-world settings. Additionally, he will examine the potential for these advanced batteries to contribute to the development of battery-powered aviation.

This lecture is part of the monthy science public lecture series. These events showcase research from scientists at the University of Nottingham and are free and open to all!
