Guided matterwave Sagnac interferometer

The first atom interferometer based on matter-wave guides in a circular Guidedmatterwave

time-Averaged-Adiabatic-Po tential will be constructed. First, the first coherent guiding of matter-waves over macroscopic distances will be demonstrated. Second, an atomic beam splitter based on optical Bragg pulses will be demonstrated inside the TAAP potentials. Finally, a full Sagnac interferometer based on the TAAPs will be demonstrated and its limits explored. Part of this project will include the implementation of novel fluorescence imaging system, which promises to deliver spatially resolved IN SITU single atom imaging.
