Murray's research is focused on understanding constraints on crop performance with respect to soil water and soil nutrients. He is leading a UKRI GCRF project working in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi on conservation agriculture, to design strategies for crop management in dry or erratic climates. This project is also focused on building research capacity and partnerships in these countries, so that key findings can be communicated to populations that can then put them to use. Professor Lark is interested in the way messages about uncertainty are framed, and how research findings are communicated to different stakeholders.
