Rights Lab Research Fellow in Forced Labour and Deforestation Data

André Augusto Siviero is a British Council Early Career Fellow and works as part of the Rights Lab's Measurement and Geographies Programme to develop methods for understanding forced labour and deforestation in Brazil. He is identifying the locations, nature and extent of labour issues and the intersections with environmental degradation. His research interests include sustainable development in the Amazon, human rights, institutional configurations and labour relations and new ways to combat modern slavery. His previous and on-going research has used quantitative analysis of the costs of non-compliance with anti-slavery labour legislation and qualitative analysis of the effectiveness of these standards.
