Dr Sara Borrelli works as part of the Rights Lab's Health and Wellbeing Programme on research about maternity care for survivors of modern slavery. She is an NMC registered midwife with experience in clinical practice, education and research based in the School of Health Sciences, including in the School's Maternal Health and Wellbeing Research Group. She completed a PhD in Health Studies and a Masters in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. She has published research into care and support during maternity for mothers affected by modern slavery, and is developing a new project that will better understand how optimal care and support can be provided for survivor mothers and their babies during maternity.
