Skills Will Not Just Help Us Survive, They Will Help Us Thrive: Building Capacity for Survivor Leadership through Participatory Art

Voices

Rights Lab project lead: Lauren Eglen
Funder: Research England
Duration: February – July 2022
Programme: Law and Policy

This project works with the survivor-led anti-trafficking organization Azadi to empower survivors of human trafficking in Kenya and raise awareness and understanding of trafficking in the UK and internationally. It is co-developing new ways of using creative participatory methodologies to foster the rehabilitation, re-integration, and empowerment of survivors. This is generating new artistic works, shared through multiple events, exhibitions, workshops, and platforms to raise awareness of human trafficking issues, and amplify survivors’ voices.
