Rights Lab project lead: Urmila Bhoola
Funder:
ESRC IAA
Duration:
October 2022 -  February 2023
Programme:
Law and Policy

This project aims to understand the ways in which women workers in high-risk economic sectors in South and South east Asian countries experience different forms of modern slavery and exploitation. Adopting a participatory approach that foregrounds women workers’ voices, the project will co-develop and disseminate a strategic advocacy toolkit for law and policy reform based on a series of multi-stakeholder consultations. It works with a network of  local stakeholders to embed learnings in practice, assisting civil society organisations, advocates, and duty-bearers to address gaps in law and policy for the prevention of exploitation, protection of women workers, and facilitation of justice.
