Summer School 2020

Connected Everything and the Smart Products Beacon online summer school

This online event is open to PhD students and recent Graduates and takes place on 15-17 July 2020. The focus of the event is on the use of collaborative robots (COBOTS) in a Covid-19 world. Professor Steve Benford, Professor of Collaborative Computing and Director of the Smart Products Beacon, along with Nik Watson, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and Co-Investigator for Connected Everything will Chair the 3 day event.

Day one will outline challenges, focusing on the areas of food production, home and healthcare environments.

Day two will consist of presentations and include interactive sessions to understand the topics of ethics, interaction & communication, learning and safety.

Day three will involve delegates working in groups to design a COBOT addressing one of the key challenges.
