Advanced Manufacturing Lab

The Nottingham Advanced Robotics Laboratory, NARLy, is a part of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Group.

The Lab investigates the modelling and control of complex, often non-linear, electromechanical systems, with a particular focus on applications that involve intelligent robotic systems working in industry. Research topics include: Digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0; Modelling and control of non-linear multi-body systems; Machine learning and machine vision; and Human-robot collaborative learning.

There is access to an assortment of equipment including collaborative (Sawyer, Baxter, Universal Robots, ABB YuMi, Kuka Iiwa, etc.), larger robots (typically associated with automated manufacture), and associated sensor and control systems.
