Katie is a Research Fellow in the Biomaterials-Related Infection Group, School of Medicine. She is currently supporting the NIHR-funded Catheter Against Urinary Tract Infection Trial: a randomised trial of antimicrobial-impregnated urinary catheters for long-term indwelling urinary catheter users (CAUTI Trial).
Her previous research includes the further development of an antimicrobial urinary catheter for long-term use and investigating novel treatment strategies for otitis media with effusion, by investigating different agents that may target biofilms. She tested the agents in combination with antibiotics against in vitro biofilm models.
