Biography

Irma is a young lecturer and researcher from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. In 2017, she joined the Building Technology Research Group of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPD), ITB as an academic assistant. Then 2 years later she was accepted to be a full-time lecturer at the same Research Group in ITB.

Before embarking on his career as a lecturer, Irma took her bachelor degree in Architecture in ITB at 2007, then she continued her master in M.Sc. Sustainable Building Technology in the University of Nottingham in 2015. She is currently doing her PhD in the Buildings, Energy and Environment (BEE) Research Group in the University of Nottingham.

Expertise Summary

Irma is interested in sustainable design architecture, particularly in energy efficiency in the tropical area, especially Indonesia.

In Architecture Department of ITB, I have contributed in several courses such as Design Studio, Construction and Materials Studio, Constructing Studio, Computing Studio, Structure and Shape Studio, Fundamentals of Building Structures, Building Physics, Building Utility, and Practical Work.

Past Research

My master dissertation is about "Reducing Cooling Demands in Hot Humid Climate: Study of Roof Construction Effect Towards Indoor Thermal Performance in Residential Building".

I also have experience working on some research project such as, Utilization of LCC and LCA in assessing sustainability of Low-middle Class Apartment in Indonesia (lead by Dewi Larasati - ITB, Ph.D, Dr. Tetsu Kubota - Hiroshima University, Dr. Eng. Usep Surahman - UPI), P3MI - Improvement of Modular Wood Block Prototype on Innovation Building Knockdown System (Patent) (lead by Permana, ST., MT. - ITB).
