The School of Medicine is inviting applications for five 3-year PhD positions, funded by the John Mortimer Shipstone Ratcliffe Medical Scholarships and the Joan Brown Legacy, which will start on 1 October 2017. There are a total of 24 research projects available, including one offered by the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology, titled "Understanding patient-reported outcomes to inform development of an international core outcome set for vitiligo clinical trials."
This PhD would provide training into the development and validation of outcome measures for use in clinical trials and would involve engagement with international experts in the field to develop consensus over the core outcome set. The PhD fits with the strategic priorities and strengths of the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology and aligns well with international efforts to reduce research waste.
For more information, please read the project summary document.
Details about requirements and instructions for submitting an application are available on the School of Medicine Legacy-funded PhD studentship webpage.
